Why TNT exists

I came to MIT with the sole intent of starting an AI company. I expected this to be the most entrepreneurial place I'd ever been.

I was deeply disappointed by how siloed it turned out to be. Too many founders had their heads down, working alone out of dorms, labs and apartments, and missing the community entirely. The best founders do stay heads down, and they should. But you still need to connect and learn from your peers to go the furthest. This isolation also made it harder to find the right cofounder, which I ran into myself.

We focused on getting the right people in the same room, so more founding relationships actually happen and fewer founders feel alone. TNT brings the community together across MIT and Harvard, both places where so many talented people are already building. Our goal with the TNT community is to increase the number of great startups by making the connections that let them get off the ground, and we run the accelerator to back the best of them.

TNT was born from firsthand experience, and out of what student and recent alumni founders say they wish had existed when they were just getting started. MIT and Harvard have two of the smartest, most entrepreneurial student bodies anywhere. We're here to take founders further, build the right connections, and help this ecosystem become what it should be. And we're just getting started.
